Do A Set of Balance Exercises
In this week's challenge you must do a set of balance exercises. Balance exercises are very important to wellness and this week we want to introduce you to a few simple ways to get started.
Why are balance exercises so important?
Balance exercises help strengthen the core muscles. This inevitable also helps with coordination and posture. With balance exercises, you decrease your risk of injury and have greater stability over time.
Be very careful when doing these exercises and please don’t over exert yourself. The point is to do these simple exercises daily.
Balance Exercise #1: Standing on One Foot
Stand on one foot behind a sturdy chair, holding on for balance. Hold position for up to 10 seconds. Repeat 10 to 15 times. Repeat 10 to 15 times with other leg. Repeat 10 to 15 more times with each leg.
Balance Exercise #2: Walking Heel to Toe
Position the heel of one foot just in front of the toes of the other foot. Your heel and toes should touch or almost touch. Choose a spot ahead of you and focus on it keep you steady as you walk.
Take a step. Put your heel in front of the toe of your other foot. Repeat for 20 steps.
