In this week's challenge you must Practice Bhramari Pranayama . The name is derived from the word for the black Indian bumble bee, Bhramari. It describes the characteristic humming sound which is produced while exhaling in this breathing exercise. Bhramari has an immediate relaxing effect on the brain. It forms vibrations in the brain. By these vibrations the cerebral cortex sends impulses directly to the hypothalamus, which controls the ‘Pituitary’ gland, the master of all glands. If it is practised some minutes every day it can reduce mental tension and lower high blood pressure. It is one of the best breathing exercises to release the mind of agitation, frustration or anxiety and get rid of anger. A simple-to-do technique, can be practiced anywhere at work or home, and an instant option available to de-stress yourself.
